STAGE PERFORMANCES
Quartet (for Anna Akhmatova)
| Solo performance |
|
Performance is not what takes place on the stage, but rather what happens in the minds of the spectators. Based on an accident that took place at La Scala opera house in Italy in 1913, Quartet is a solo performance that revolves around a simple premise: each of its four components (the movements, the objects, the music, the words) is performed in isolation, one after the other.

Dance company
| A choreography for 10 people |
|
What is it that draws us to watch other people move their bodies under the lights of a theatre?
This is a choreography of warm ups, stretches, theatre games and dance exercises; it is performed each time by a cast of 10 new people, all local to where the show is being presented. Each person learns the show alone, through a series of online instruction videos.

The Glass Room
Peformance installation for a shop window
Commissioned by the Winchester Cornershop and The Point
|
|
People walking by come across a brightly lit musical performance taking place inside an empty shop: but as soon as they stop to look inside, the lights and music go off. In semi-darkness, a performer can be seen, now calmly sat on a chair, waiting. On the back wall, the word "INTERVAL" is written in large clear letters. As soon as the spectator leaves, the show resumes.
